   firstly, thank you for the table. This really helps in keeping up with the many changes to Exchange….particualrly Exchange 2010

   regarding the last roll update 4…I found this article…..

7. Thank you for the information, it has proven very useful over the years! One thing I have noticed though – there’s an error for the version number for Exchange 2007 SP1 RU9. The number you have is 8.1.293.1, however the actual number is 8.1.393.1 – I guess you made a typo there!

    • Version of what? As reported by Exchange? Note that these figures may vary slightly between ExSetup and the reported version when installed.

21. Is the 2013 CU13 + KB3184736 version really 15.0.1210.3 (the same as without the KB)? I’m guessing that is a typo and version is now higher than 15.0.1210.3.

    • Previous builds which are out of support stop being available at some point through official channels. This is why you need to keep the installation set of any build you have running in production, should you ever need it again. Try to to get an earlier build through your TAM or support channel.

29. Hello ! After KB4092041, a lot of services Microsoft Exchange 2016 crashed. When you try starting, i have 1068 error windows. To solve it, you must first activate Windows Management Instrumentation service : it make link with dependencies of all other service. Second you must restart manually all off Microsoft Exchange services. And finally IISADMIN and W3svc for activate Owa and ECP…
    I think my problem solved : i test it tomorow at job…

36. I have installed CU8 for Exchange 2019.
    Rebooted, then ran the patch via elevated command, and reboot again.
    It seems to have gone through however my AdminDisplayVersion is still showing “15.2.792.3”, when it seems I should be expecting .10

    It’s been a couple days now and we’ve seen no additional suspicious activity since the patch was installed.

    Any guidance on this?

        • Check the Upd HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\Patches\DisplayName for the latest version reference, replacing GUID with 442189DC8B9EA5040962A6BED9EC1F1F for Ex2019 and 442189DC8B9EA5040962A6BED9EC1F1F for Ex2016. Or use a script like this one: https://github.com/michelderooij/Get-ExchangeVersion

37. Thank you so much for this list. With the world of Exchange burning and starting with nearly 0 information as to how Exchange versioning works copy/pasting this data into a spreadsheet so I can sort the data made it super easy to figure this out! As a matter of fact this data helped me identify the fact that MS released KBs to patch older, unsupported CUs of Exchange and provide that data to our research team.

    • Message implies the Exchange security groups (necessary for RBAC) have been deleted recently or in the past. To remediate, you can try running Install-CannedRBACRoles.ps1 and Install-CannedRbacRoleAssignments.ps1 (located in $ExchangeInstallPath\Scripts) after you looked at their actions (restore default RBAC roles and assignments).
